We understand that having a back problem can be stressful & worrying as well as painful or debilitating. Florence & her team will strive to get you an appointment as soon as practical and, wherever possible, at a time that causes you least disruption.
We are pleased to announce that Mr Cass can now see adolescent patients from age 11years and upwards at The Brighton Nuffield Hospital. Please contact Florence as usual to discuss this if you are a parent.
We are linked to many of the leading physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths & other allied professionals, and wherever possible we practice conservative or non-operative management for your condition.
We can be involved early on in your problem and would plan to give you an accurate diagnosis & explanation and then co-ordinate your treatment plan with these other therapists. On the other hand, sometimes we are asked to review you if other treatments have failed and a further opinion is requested. Either way, we are committed to keeping interventions to a minimum and operating only when really required.
As well as providing management of your problem from the outset, Mr Cass is also highly regarded for second opinions on complex problems. He receives requests for case reviews from all over the UK including London & also from abroad.
If you are abroad, it can sometimes be arranged to review your case, and give advice. For details, contact Florence on 01273 828098.
Mr Michael Cass is Sussex Spine Solutions' specialist surgeon. Read more about him here.
Florence Cass is the Practice Manager for Sussex Spinal Solutions. With a background in sports therapy, as an oncology co-ordinator in the NHS, and other patient-centered roles, she has a natural empathy for patients and an exceptional ability for organisation.
Away from her running of this busy practice, Florence enjoys music, food, horse riding, countryside walks and the simple pleasures of life.
Mr Michael Brooks is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon and the Clinician Lead for Sussex Vascular Network. He has worked with Mr Cass on anterior lumbar cases for over 15 years, and the two of them have strived to successfully reduce the risks associated with this very specialised surgery. Mike has a passion for motorbikes, music & raising monies for charity including climbing Kilimanjaro & trekking to Everest Base Camp.
What I really valued is that Mr Cass did not treat me as a ‘patient’. He smoothed some difficult bureaucratic paths and took wider responsibility for my health, not just my spine. I always felt I understood the options and was in control of decisions. What more could I ask?
Just want to say a huge thank you to you and your team for all that you did to put me back on my feet again. I feel so much better after the excellent care I received throughout my treatment.
I want to say thank you for giving me my life back! Following the operation I am now able to do most things without any pain: this summer I have dug, planted and tended to my beloved garden. I have done some decorating in my flat, I am exercising again and walking lots. Life has changed completely for me...most of all I went to Wembley stadium to see ELO and danced all evening - just like I used to do in the 70's! Magic.
